About Plant-based foods Europe

Plant-Based Foods Europe represents the interests of plant-based food manufacturers in Europe. Plant-Based Foods Europe is an association of internationally operating companies, ranging from large corporations to small, family-owned businesses with an annual turnover of over €1.4 billion. Plant-Based Foods Europe members produce high-quality plant-based alternatives to dairy and meat products. Since its establishment in 2003, Plant-Based Foods Europe has been raising awareness about the role of a plant-based diet in moving towards more sustainable and healthier food consumption patterns.

Our Key Topics

We inform about the benefits of plant-based foods in a healthy balanced diet. Thanks to our Scientific Advisory Committee, we base our positions and messages on up-to-date scientific evidence.

We support farmers grow more protein crops in Europe. Protein crops have a role to play in a sustainable European agriculture, thanks to their nitrogen fixing properties that make them fit well in a crop rotation system.

We raise awareness about the environmental impact of our current food patterns, where diets incorporating more plant-based foods can help reduce pressure on land and water and create less green-house-gas emissions.
